But Larry wasn’t always this fit. His journey began when he looked at the scale and weighed over 260 pounds. Determined to make a change, he picked up some weights and started his transformation. Since then he’s conquered powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, barefoot running, parkour, MovNat, jiu jitsu, MMA, hiking, and running, as well as rowing. Placing first in several indoor rowing competitions, he’s also gone on American Ninja Warrior, competed in 10ks, AFM fittest, Nights OPs challenges, True Athlete games, Garage games, and Powerlifting competitions.

His wife (who also happens to be a certified yoga instructor who’s written a yoga curriculum book for the blind) and two young boys love being outdoors and living a healthy lifestyle with him.

He’s real. He’s tough.  And he’s ready to row with you

BRIAN MINZENMAYER Brian found rowing his freshman year at the Naval Academy. New to rowing he quickly fell in love with the sport, its peaceful intensity and the satisfaction rowing brought to his busy schedule. By senior year he was a 4-year varsity letterman and team captain of Navy's Lightweight Crew team. Rowing up to 100 miles a week and running up to 50 miles, he learned to be disciplined and enjoy the benefits of incorporating exercise as a way to keep a calming balance to his otherwise hectic life. To his delight he found an ergometer on his first ship and soon began teaching others proper rowing form, creating teams, and showing others how to enjoy an intense, fun workout. He's been an avid out-doorsman enjoying swimming, rowing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, running, hiking, cycling and strength training. During his 30-years in the Navy, he kept active and competed in numerous running races, from 5K's to marathons. After incurring several running knee injuries, Brian retuned to his roots, using rowing as a way to bring back intense, low-impact and satisfying workouts. He's taught hundreds of people over the past 30+ years to enjoy rowing, and he looks forward to showing you how to have a fun, intense workout too!

RP STUART

RP is a rare sighting these days: a native Austinite. Growing up, he played football, baseball and ran track at Anderson High School. He left Texas, but only briefly, to play Wide Receiver at Louisiana Tech University.

His love of the physical prowess of the game led him to a degree in Exercise Sports Science, and to a career in getting adults and kids healthy and fit. Finally back in Austin, as an ISSA Strength and Conditioning Specialist, RP’s had the privilege of working with adults and young athletes for the last four years, building their confidence and physical strength. And has now added rowing to his long list of skills.

When he’s not coaching rowing, or spotting a client in a heavy lift, he’s hunting down Austin’s newest hot restaurants. A self-proclaimed foodie, he’s all too happy to hop in the gym the next morning to burn off the extra calories. So join RP! He’s always looking for someone to burn a few calories with…
